1989 - A group of parents without access to quality child care for their school age children met to address the need. A needs and feasibility study confirmed an urgent need for such a program. A task force of parents and representatives from the Liverpool school district conducted further research and developed a proposal for BASCOL.
1992 - BASCOL was incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization. The first pilot program opened in Liverpool in September with thirteen children enrolled. Two additional Liverpool Elementary sites opened in December.
1995 - BASCOL opened in all 11 Liverpool Elementary Schools. BASCOL opened a program in the West Genesee School District.
1997 - BASCOL opened its first summer program, providing full-day care for 9 weeks throughout the summer at 2 locations in Onondaga County.
2000 - BASCOL opened in the Onondaga Central School District.
2001 - BASCOL opened in the Westhill School District.
2009 - BASCOL served approximately 600 children annually with a staff of 50 employees.
2010 - BASCOL opened a program in the Solvay School District.
2012 - BASCOL celebrated our 20 year anniversary!
2013 - BASCOL opened two sites in Oswego County, in the Central Square Central School District at A.A. Cole and Hastings-Mallory and a second location in the West Genesee School District at Split Rock Elementary.
2014 - BASCOL opened a site in Dewitt at Holy Cross School.
2015- BASCOL opens a third site in the Central Square School District at Central Square Intermediate School, serving Millard Hawk School children and families.
2016- BASCOL opens a third summer program location at Central Square Intermediate School.
